Beautifully-reimagined Can Bordoy Grand House and Garden is the brain child of its owner whose ingenuous vision has created this luxurious 5 star city centre hotel like no other.
Situated close to La Llotja, the trading exchange of Mallorca’s merchants since the 1400’s, minutes from the chic shops and pavement cafes of Passeig del Borne, it offers a sumptuous haven of peace and tranquility.
The grand courtyard entrance signals your arrival, adorned with seating and brimming with foliage, you will be welcomed by the smiling staff at the ready to ease you into your stay with a welcome drink after your journey.
The inventive designers have woven gothic relics, marble tiling, baroque mirrors and velvet seating brilliantly allowing the building’s history to connect to the present by retaining much of the character of this extraordinary building.
The 24 suites, laid out over three floors, are unique and stay true to the building’s past life. There are four categories of suite from the Traveler to the Premium suites with some that open to Juliet balconies overlooking the garden or Palma’s cityscape and two Grand Suites which which are spacious at 80 m2 offering views out to the garden, pictured below.
Each of the suites at Can Bordoy Grand House and Garden feels palatial with double-height ceilings, open-plan layouts separated only by theatrical velvet floor – to – ceiling curtains. This is clever vintage – urban design. Painstakingly renovated frescoes and marble fireplaces, paired with industrial-style lighting and hand made mid century furnishings such as the quirky teak maxi bar stand work seamlessly together. And mod cons even include pressure control of your mattress at the touch of a button.
In keeping with the mid-century era, replica vintage light switches and sockets contrast perfectly with the large modern free standing circular baths in each suite.
The roof terrace and pool area is an oasis of calm, with views across the rooftops to the rose window of Palma’s La Seu Gothic Cathedral and the glinting blue of the Mediterranean beyond. Some of the best in Palma.
The cosy spa on the lower ground floor is a purpose-built wellness retreat by Dornbracht offering state-of-the-art sauna, plunge pool and stream area as well as two treatment beds.

Something Different
From the roof top to the lower ground spa, a well of light has been created which is unique.
The rooftop’s glass bottomed plunge pool sits at the top of the internal stairwell diffusing light down through the floors until you reach the ground floor where this `light – through – water´ installation continues with more glass revealing the spa on the lower ground floor. Clever.
What's Special
The hotel’s garden is one-of-a-kind in Palma with its selection of established olive, jacaranda and fruit trees, as well as a some 70 different varieties of plants and shrubs.
The heated outdoor pool sits perfectly in its surroundings and a jacuzzi is tucked away in a quiet corner. There is a private entrance to the garden for residents, should you wish to just pop down for a plunge without walking through the hotel.
Botànic Restaurant and bar on the ground floor, with its Mediterranean inspired menu, opens on to part of the garden terrace with the rest cleverly screened for hotel guests.

Breakfast which can be included in your room rate is served between 07.00 -11.00am in the Botànic Restaurant. This is a breakfast with a difference.
Gluten free with no added sugar. Energy bowls, oats, healthy milkshakes and a choice of eggs to help start the day in a healthy way.
Botánic Restaurant is open for all day dining to non residents serving seasonal Mallorcan Mediterranean cuisine.
