Hotel Valldemossa

The hotel is only 5 minutes on foot from the picture-postcard village of Valldemossa with its tree-lined cobbled streets, terracotta-roofs, sleepy cats and locals chatting to each other from their doorways. Your arrival takes you up a few flights of steps to reach the main reception or, if you prefer, drive directly to the hotel where staff will gladly assist with carrying luggage to rooms and valet parking the car in their generous and free car park. Boasting just 12 bedrooms this historic manor house has the feel of a comfortable country house and is boutique luxury in the truest sense of the word. the relaxed atmosphere creates a homely vibe. 

Stylish sofas, exposed stone walls and easy-on-the eye furnishings in tones of copper and cream, are complemented by smart designer lighting, traditional terracotta flooring, sisal rugs and antique furnishings. 

A labyrinth of stately stone staircases and balustrades, patios and terraces offer the chance to soak in those valley  views at every opportunity with the hardest decision of the day to choose a chair in the sun or in the dappled shade to settle  into and gaze across the landscape with a chilled glass of Mallorcan wine. 

The 12 well-proportioned bedrooms, all different in size, are clustered in and around the main house across three floors.

There are four categories, deluxe terrace, junior suite and suite terrace and the fabulous Valldemossa Suite, vast at 65 m² with lounge, private terrace with a jacuzzi and breathtaking views of the valley and Carthusian Monastery. 

All rooms are light and spacious with exposed beams, stone flooring, rugs and textiles in a warm palette of copper and cream.

There is a peaceful swimming pool, flanked with sun-beds, a wellness area carved into natural rock with heated pool, whirlpool tub and sauna, all offering stunning views of the valley. There is also a small gym and treatment rooms with a superb spa menu. The signature restaurant De Tokio a Lima needs no introduction for regular visitors to the island as one of Palma’s most prestigious dining spots and now has a sister restaurant in the mountains with jaw-dropping views from its terrace. 

Commanding panoramic mountain views at every turn and across the valley to the iconic emerald green bell tower of the famous Carthusian Monastery. Follow in the footsteps of Frédéric Chopin and his lover George Sand and visit the Monastery which they called home during the winter of 1838, stroll around the Palacio del Rey Sancho with its spectacular gardens or, for those looking for a towering perspective why not walk The Archdukes Way which starts from the village and, with a steady climb, rewards you with unparalleled views of the island’s west coast.
