Hotel Illa d’Or
Hugging the waterfront and commanding superb views across the Bay of Pollensa, the elegant Hotel Illa d’Or has just celebrated 90 years of hospitality.
Exuding style, the hotel has welcomed the rich and famous over the years from Agatha Christie in 1932 and, more recently, the stars of the world’s tennis elite stayed while attending Rafa Nadal’s wedding nearby.
Situated at the far end of the famous Pine Walk promenade of Port de Pollensa, the hotel has been remodelled over the years but it has cleverly managed to retain its historic charm, combining traditional hospitality with a smart seaside vibe.
The bedrooms and suites are laid out over four floors in five categories from doubles, with and without balcony, to side sea view and full sea view with balcony which are the most popular. The balcony rooms are on the first and second floor, while third and fourth floor rooms, whilst they have no outside space, offer superb views.
All rooms are light and spacious with a contemporary decor of white, cream and biscuit colour scheme with tiled floors. The suites are both sea facing with generous balconies and give that little bit of extra room to stretch out.
The hotel has an outdoor pool flanked with sunbeds as well as a smaller pool for children, but most guests plump for one of the sun beds arranged on the deck in front of the hotel facing the sea.
Afternoon tea is served on the terrace. Bikes are available to rent and there are walking routes starting straight from the front door.
There is a small gym, a tennis court just across the road and, for relaxation, the spa features an indoor heated pool, sauna and steam room on one level and hairdresser, manicures, pedicures, massages and facials above.
There are two restaurants, La Terrassa (seasonal), offering light lunches and Restaurant 1929 open in the evening for dinner. In the evening head to the beachfront Gin & Tonic Corner to enjoy those stunning bay views while enjoying your favourite tipple.
The four star Hotel Illa d ‘ Or is renowned for its award-winning service, far reaching views across the Bay of Pollensa and makes the ideal spot if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat that’s within easy reach of town.

Something Different
Its not often you have the opportunity to charter your own boat when staying at a hotel, but here you can. Adjacent to the sun terrace, there is a private jetty where the hotel’s own llaut, Isabel María, a traditional fishing boat with sails, picks up guests for private hire or an afternoon or sunset cruise.
Book a day trip around the Bay of Pollensa and Formentor and drink in those views.

Delivering high standards of service for over 90 years. With its fiercely loyal clientele, this elegant seaside hotel feels as much of a club as a hotel, where staff are greeted like family year after year and fellow guests become good friends.
